The Olympics

New postby RoseRuth » Tue Feb 16, 2010 9:13 am

How many of you are watching the winter Olympics?

I've only seen parts of it. Like the couple ice skaters last night, where Pang and Pong from China won it's first gold metal.

Haven't seen what the Americans have won, although I've noticed we've won eight gold metals.

I'm half paying attention to the Olympics. I have seen some really wild crashes and some really amazing wins. This is by far the best winter Olympics I've seen in a while. Some of the favorites have been upset by long shot athletes. I'm glad they are able to come on and win. It just proves, you might be the favorite, but it's not a guarantee.

Last night I seen Apolo Ohno try to get into the mix being in fourth placed and was disqualified as he pushed one of the Canadian skaters away forcing him to go down. On that race he received no metal. When he had the relay race with the rest of his team they came in third place winning the bronze.

Watched Katherne Reutter an American win a silver metal in the 1000 meter race.

It was a good nice for watching the Olympics.

Here are the metal standings so far.

Name......Gold.....Silver...Bronze...Total

USA..........9.......15.......13........37

Germany....10......13.......7..........30

Canada......14.......7........5........26

Norway.......9.......8........6.........23

Austra........4.......6........6.........16

Russia........3.......5........7.........15

South Korea..6.......6........2.........14

China.........5.......2.........4........11

Australia......2......1.........0.........3

France.........2......3.........6........11

4 man bob sled won gold. That is the last thing I heard on the radio.

I think the Summer Olympics which will be in 2012 will be held in London. Last time it was in London was 1948.
