My Old Graduation's Gown

New postby Poet » Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:08 pm

When I graduated high school we had to buy our graduation gowns. I wore the thing for only about 2hrs and since then this useless piece of clothing has been sitting in a closet for the past 20 years. Kind of a stupid question but what should I do with this thing? It feels strange to just toss it out in the trash. But I am not sure if I even want to keep it anymore. I could take it to the goodwill store but really, who has any use for this thing? Did any of you have to buy your graduation gowns? If so what did you do with them after graduation?

Nope never had to purchase my Graduation gown. Since that is a lot of material Poet why not make something out of it. 1.Perhaps a dress for your daughter.
2.If you have pillow stuffing, cut out the material and make a pillow.
3.Another idea would be to cut it way down and make it a Halloween costume for your daughter.
4.Table place mats
5.It could be used as a small blanket for your daughters bed.

What color was your Gown Poet?

Thought about the Halloween thing. Might make a good Harry Potter robe. But it is white and would have to be dyed black. Guess I will just put it back in the closet for now. Why on earth did they make us buy these things I will never know. I remember it not being cheap. I think it cost more then my dress cost that I wore underneath it.

I would take it and gather your year books, report cards, any notes from teachers that you had. Even Photos from other schools Box it all-up as memories. Take the gown and place it on Top. (lol) you survived it all.

Ypiur grand kids might get a kick out of it all. lol
